Hi, I'm Benoit Vannesson, a hands-on Engineering Manager with a strong product instinct, based in Paris.

Over the last decade, I've built and led technical teams across startups and scale-ups, delivering high-impact products with a focus on scalability, security, and user experience. I thrive at the intersection of tech, product, and people, where strategic thinking meets day-to-day execution.

👨‍💻 Experience

Engineering Manager – Yubo (2022–2025)

At Yubo, I led the Safety Engineering & Machine Learning team, building real-time moderation tools, scaling infrastructure, and contributing to strategic company decisions. I also temporarily stepped into a product role, co-driving a monetization strategy that boosted revenue by 80% in one year.

Key highlights:

  • Led a team of 5 engineers (backend, ML, frontend)
  • Shipped secure, compliant features across KYC, content safety, and reporting
  • Took ownership of team hiring, delivery processes, and mentoring
  • Defined monetization strategy with the CPO and ran product experiments

CTO – IDVIU (2015–2022)

As the founding CTO, I built IDVIU’s technical vision and team from scratch. We developed secure video products used at scale, with advanced streaming, DRM, and watermarking technologies.

Key highlights:

  • Led architecture and development of SDKs and cloud infrastructure
  • Managed and mentored a small engineering team
  • Delivered WebRTC-based solutions, 360° video support, and global-scale back offices
  • Acted as both tech lead and executive stakeholder

Lead developer – Labgency (2010–2015)

Key highlights:

  • Developed multi-platform VOD applications (Android, iOS, Windows, Bada, Blackberry)
  • Developed core technology components: video player, DRM
